Myanmar name Pe-di-sein, also known as Green gram, Green mung bean, Golden gram, Vigna radiate. In Myanmar, green gram is grown in central dry zone region in monsoon season. Thus farmers in central dry zone region can be grown in any season. Newly harvested green gram is supplied from central dry zone region in monsoon season while in cool season, new crop supplied from delta region in Lower Myanmar enter to local markets in February and March. It is consumed as bean sprout, bean paste, snack and most of surplus is exported. |
